Six DDA Clients nominated for Emmy Awards

DDA congratulates its clients on their achievements. 

 

LOS ANGELES – DDA cinematography clients Paul Cameron, ASC, James Hawkinson, Kira Kelly, Rodney Taylor, ASC, Will Basanta and Amy Vincent, ASC have been nominated for 2017 Creative Arts Emmy Awards.

Paul Cameron, ASC’s work onWestworld for HBO and James Hawkinson’slensing of Man in the High Castle for Amazonare nominated for Outstanding Cinematography for a Single-Camera Series (One Hour).

“I’m thrilled to have had the opportunity to work with great filmmakers Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy,” says Cameron. “Congratulations to all of the Westworld nominees.”

“I can’t tell you how excited I am that Paul’s groundbreaking work on Westworld is being recognized,” says agent Bill Dispoto. “Paul is a one-of-a-kind artist.”

Hawkinson won an Emmy for The Man in the High Castle in 2016 and is currently shooting the third season of the show.

“James is consistently brilliant with the images he creates,” says his agent Dan Burnside.

Rodney TaylorASC is nominated for Outstanding Cinematography for a Single-Camera Series (Half-Hour) for his work on HBO’s Ballers.

Ballers was an incredible experience and everyone on the show was awesome to work with,” says Taylor.

“Rodney can effortlessly shift between looks and styles and never fails to find a unique way to capture a story,” says Burnside on Taylor’s first nomination.

Will Basanta’s work on Chef’s Table and Kira Kelly’s on 13th, both for Netflix, are nominated in the Outstanding Cinematography for a Non Fiction Program category.

“I'm honored and humbled to be nominated alongside so many incredible filmmakers and shows for this Emmy” says Basanta. “I'd like to recognize the tireless work and talent our entire camera and production team put in to make this Peruvian episode so special.”

Kelly is currently lensing Ava DuVernay’s second season of Queen Sugar for Harpo Productions. “It’s an absolute honor to be associated with this moving piece,” she says.

“Working on 13th is a highlight in my career and now to be nominated, makes it all the more special. I’m overwhelmed.”

Nominated for Outstanding Commercial is director of photography Amy Vincent, ASC who worked within theall-female team who created Why I March - Women’s March on Washington. The spot, directed by Hungry Man’s Nanette Burstein, was timed to achieve maximum participation for the January 21 protest in Washington, DC.
